Cheap Gas makes my 99 Maxima misfire!!

I read tons of bulletins on this forum debating about what type of gas to put in the Maxima. I always figured it was not that big of a deal. Now I have learned that the cheap 87 octane gas makes my car misfire. No more cheap crap for my Max, only 93 octane from now on. Don’t wait for your car to misfire, only put 93 in it.

Are you sure it's not your coilpacks? You do have a 99.

yeha the typical 87 normaly would just cause lot lots of low end power loss because of a knock sensor because it retards the ignition or some shyte. But not a misfire.

my heads gonna pop if i see another gas thread ive said this a million times your computer IS PROGRAMMED FOR 87 OCTANE FUEL. if some gas fairy is making the engine seem to misfire when its put in its not the gas. check your coil packs, knock sensor, and fuel injectors. make sure all your computer codes are clear. please delete this thread.

the only way to utilize the higher octane is to get an upgraded ecu programmed for 91 octane from jwt or TS. now i must take pause to vent my frustration at a totally anonomous person not expecting it because i feel like it......just kidding....

please search
