LCA bushings and LTB stage II questions

Ok, so i've been on the stock bushings with my Blehmco Stage II LTB for a while now.
I've had the ES poly bushing kit sitting in my room for over 6 months now..
The only thing that's stopping me from doing it is getting the old bushings out...
I can't seem to find a place that will explain to me how to get them out.
I went to a shop today and they quoted me around 9 hours of labor because they have to drop the entire front suspension, and all kinds of crap to put the LCA's on a hydro. press to get em out...
I'm not about to pay 700 bucks to put some freakin bushings in....

Any help will be appriciated.

Thanks!

Mike

Burn them out with a torche. Then saw out the metal ring. Should take about 1/2 a day for you to do it yourself.

Priceless how I don't have the box?
Priceless how 80% of the time the manufacturers instructions for aftermarket products supply insufficient information on how to install it?
Priceless how I was simply asking for suggestions from members who have done the install them selves?
Thanks for your informative post....

I would not use a hammer and a chisel. You risk gouging the very metal that will be in contact with your brand new ES Bushing. Great idea. Nice sharp edges tearing up your new bushings. Plus I can guarantee you that you can beat on a stock bushing all day long and it will NOT budge. At least a new one wont.

when i had mine done(had a fellow orger do it) we replaced the lca's as well, my ball joints were totally fried. 5th gens use pressed in balljoints(if thats the correct terminology) so i knwo theyre not the same, but urs could be worn as well. might as well tackle both at the same time.

Well as long as your not banging the S#!t out of it like your a F#@%ing BEAST you wont score /gouge anything left took about 4 bangs right 2 no marks by the way on the metal screw/pin NO SHARP metal pieces touch your bushing because we happen to be talking about REPLACING this sleeve piece cause we are breaking it off to put NEW one as supplied in with ES bushing kit or purchasing stock piece for $27 (does this clarify things a bit)

Blackmaxx I have done the install I am not a Mechanic just average weekend wrencher it only took me about 1hr 30min to replace LCA,outer tie rods ,sway bar links(of course I bought LCA had bushing pressed ahead of time for a simple LCA swap) ES happens to be working in the 20% margin for this piece directions were good

3 gens are only very slightly different from 4/5 gens on the control arms.. the bushings are the same.. so read this..
http://www.4dsc.com/articles/suspens..._bushing.shtml

ignore the part about putting the bushings in a freezer and cooking the control arm.. that's only for installing the OEM bushings without a press.

Airsaw to get through the rubber and the outer ring. Once you cut through it, it decompresses along the perimeter and you can just tap it out with a hammer and screwdriver
