How bad is 32mm offset?
It's a little late
But, I should a set of 17X8 32mm offset SSR Integrals on my car in two weeks. I had a set of 50mm with 6mm spacers to clear the Wilwood caliper and at a full u-turn, they would just slightly rub the inside. I don't see any problems with using 32mm offsets.
the max has a lot of suspension travel (wheel gap) so rubbing shouldn't be too much of an issue with a normal drop. Throw on coilovers and it'll probably hit the fender on bumps because it sticks further out.

Just to clear things up...
when talking about positive (+) offset...
is it (a) "the higher the number the further they stick out"..
OR
is it (b) "the lower the number the further they stick out"..
i've been confused for a while and never get a straight answer..
when i had the Lexus wheels on my car (+50mm offset) i could swear it looked like the wheels set IN further...
or maybe its just an optical illusion...
Anyway...
so what is it, choice "a" or choice "b"?
Thanks in advance.
PS: don't answer if you're not 101% sure.

So a +50mm wheel is way tucked in there, and a 0mm to minus anything mm would be like truck wheels!

I'm not sure about 4th and 5th Gens, but 32mm works great for 3rd Gens - it's about the offset of the 17x8 Mustang wheels people fit (235/45/17 tires). If you want to figure out if it'll stick out too much, subtract the difference between whatever you have now and 32mm, and it will stick out that much further. Then decide how picky you are.
On Confused's car he has 17x8 44 offset...to clear his wilwoods, needed (2) 5mm spacers, to clear his Wilwoods it would be 7-8mm. The one thing noticed is the front wheels stick out a bit w/ "34mm" offset. 2mm more and it won't make much of a difference.
Freakin Factory 17s are 45mm~!~!~!
Even 15mm spacers on the rear, don't leave it flush
Stupid 17x7s.

I have 32mm offset 17X8 SSR Integrals and I had to use a set of 2mm washers between the wheels and the rotors of the Wilwoods. They clear without the washers, but I feel much better with them on. As for the look, I like it. They come out just perfect with the fender and the rear looks much better. I'll have a pic up soon.
who is that masked man behind the s/n? <cough> <cough>

For the front, 35 mm is basically flush. I had 17x8 wheels w/ 235 tires and 35 offset and they stuck out about 1/8", barely noticable. That was due to the wide tires. Now w/ my 42 offset 19"s, and a 1/4 (6.25mm) spacer, the wheels are flush. For the rears, my old wheels w/ 35 offset still looked a little tucked in. But you can't get them much further out because they will rub. Ming (MAC) had spacers on his rear wheels that put them almost flush w/ the fenders and he chewed up his tires from them hitting. I had that same problem a while back when my wheels were almost flush. So if you want that look, roll the fender.

Any 4th gens out there have any examples for me? I noticed with the factory rims, the rears are kinda tucked in there. I'm looking for the closest possible match to flush with the fenders. I'd like them BARELY tucked in there. What do you guys think?
