I just cut out my would be spot for foglights, so my cai will get a BLAST of cold air. You think this will help?? It sure feels ALOT better down low2000 to 3000 and up real high 5000 rpm to 6000.

 

wont water get in your cone?

 

The cone is pretty far back but water on the cone does absolutley nothing the only way there will be a problem is if i go in a deep puddle where the cone is completely submerged. And i don't plan to go through puddles that deep.

 

I had an R33 front bumper on my car(there's a hole where the fog light is) and my filter was in the fender, anytime I would drive on the highway when it was raining, the rain would beat on the filter until it filled up and started to suck in water. I wouldn't recommend doing that unless you have a good bypass filter on your intake.
Trust me, I've been there and it's not fun. I was almost stranded 80 miles from my house. I had to pull my CAI off, and then put a sock(yes a sock) over my intake after the MAF so it wouldn't suck in too much air or the car would stall. it was a ****ty drive home.

 

I have a aem bypass valve.

 

Would it help if you meshed where you cut out so you could still get air in there, but not have as much water get in?
