help! Car does not want to go more than 1/2 throttle!

since last weekend it's been acting weird...
if I go WOT the car only goes as if i'm only pressing the accelerator half way or somewhere around there. I dont' believe it's the MAF because i'm able to rev above 2500 RPM's.. (i can go up to redline).

i did the throttle position relearn as per this thread:
http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...2&postcount=10
(thanks joel)

i've reset it MANY times and it has only worked ONCE. after starting it up the next time it went back to 1/2 throttle ONLY.

any other suggestions? crank position sensor recall?

I feel like I have 55HP instead of 255.

Thanks in advance!

BTW..going to try resetting the ECU tonight to see if it helps

Your LEDs tails are interfering with the signal on your VTECHNO capacitor's solenoid.

Have you done anything under the hood recently or did this just start out of the blue?

Sorry to say so but....

it's probably your throttle body actuator.
The good news is that they now offer a remanufactured one from Nissan instead of being like 600$ it only lists at 141$ with exchange. The Consult II can tell if it's functioning right.

Your car should be throwing a SES light. Go get the code pulled at a local Autozone.

could still be maf even if u can rev above 2500. check TB could be stuck?? i know u shouldnt really clean thr 5.5 TBs but just visually inspect. is it that ur vevs go up, but feels like its not moving at an equal rate?? are u MT or auto? maybe a tranny issue?

i'm a 6speed MT. Revs go up but at a slower rate as if the accelerator is only at partial thorttle not WOT. It will pull to redline fine just not as quick as it woudl be at WOT.

BTW thansk for all the suggestions everyone

are u saying that as the engine revs, ur cars isnt accelerating accordingly? if so its likely a tranny problem.

I don't mean to be insulting, but make sure the floor mat hasn't slipped
up underneath the accelerator pedal. This happened on my wifes
car after the little clip, that holds the carpet in place, broke away.

I'm going to rule this out because I did the throttle relearn and it went back to normal ONCE. The next time I started the engine it went back to being the sluggish maxima. It's gotta be some kind of electrical problem..

just vacuumed the car...it's in it's place. Thanks though...no insult taken. Sometimes it's just the dumbest things that happen.
