is my car sick?

Recently I've been riding in my other friends cars quite a bit as i dont keep my car on campus and both the mazda6 and 99 es300 feel torqueyer than my max. The es300 would be understandable as it puts out 210lbs of torque, but I was riding in the 6 with 4 other people and it still felt stronger than my max. If my KS sensor was bad I shouldnt be able to break loose my tires from a stop right? My car is auto and I have front tires with 3000 miles on them. A bad O2 would trip a CEL correct?

Check for silent codes and run premium gas. Otherwise, it might just be showing its age? How many miles?

checking for silent codes is just running self diagnostic and looking up the code right? I run premium all the time. Car is still pretty young for a vq 74k.

wait, so now we are determining whether our KS is good or bad by how easy it is to break traction from a stop?
this is rediculous, just look in the stickies and check your codes

Some other hints as to a bad KS: poor acceleration below 3000 RPM (I was getting tired of being left behind at stoplights by Honda Civics), reduced gas mileage.
It's already difficult for an auto to break traction and if there is poor acceleration below 3000 it should be nearly impossible considering the conditions. What's really ridiculous is your command on the english language.

I don't know about that, WOT from a stop I'll spin through first and second, and gain traction when I hit third, and in the dry spin about 3/4 through first then chirp into second.

Back when the KS was bad, I could break them loose for just a second in the dry, and when wet it would only burn through part of first.

Would a bad KS be able to read using self diagnostic? There are two how-to's for testing knock sensor and one starts off using the computer another just uses an ohmmeter.

195lbs @5000 and 3350 pounds. On paper it would seem much weaker off the line, but I guess thats the advantage of having an extra gear.

agh. sad to find out that the max can't keep up with these cars. I didnt know that the es300 put out that much too and expected the mazda6 to be slower than the max too

actually I drove the S, which on paper is 220HP, but the torque is 192 but it felt as if it was higher than the Maxes, at least the 4th Gen

maybe their suspension is more firm than ours because I was looking at 1/4 times on a mazda6 forum and it the Automatics rung mid 15s to low 16s like our automatic maxes. I wasn't able to find any "real" times for the es300 though

This is getting rediculous on this forum. What has this world come to. We test knock sensors and whether our clutch slips or not by breaking traction.

Get your @$$ under your steering wheel, turn that damn screw, read the blinks. /thread.

My roommate has a Mazda 6 (4 cyl) and it is kinda slow ... off-topic. The Mazdaspeed6 does 0-60 in 6.3 and the Mazda6 (6 cyl) does 0-60 in 7.5.

Stock our cars do 0-60 in 6.6 .... end result:
Mazda 6 is a POS. A turboed brand new car can BARELY beat us. A y-pipe+tires+a good driver and we can shread the Mazdaspeed into pieces. PATHETIC on Mazda's part. Their biggest mistake was making the Mazdaspeed6 based off of the 4cyl engine. That car would be sick if they based the platform off of the 6cyl.

Heh ... in addition the aftermarket support is 500x worse than our cars.

we're not saying which car is faster, we're trying to figure out why the other car FEELS torquer than our Maxes...

Am I missing out on something? Is there an ongoing joke about spelling ridiculous incorrectly? Again the only thing I would have to do is perform the self diagnostics test? I'll do that once I get access to my car. The stickies show something with an ohmmeter. Would i have to do both or just one of the tests?

It could also be because my struts may be worn causing more weight transfer to the rear. Thus, less I would get less of a pushing feeling than the mazda6 with its relatively firm suspension.

The self-diag test will tell you if the KS is croaked.

the maxima considering there almost 10 years old hold up fairly well compared to the new cars out there. A typical 5spd maxima with the basic bolt ons, intake, ypipe, exhaust, is pretty quick for what it is. Now add a 00vi, jwt ecu with 7k rev limit, and a good driver with some sticky tires and you have yourself a car that has potential for low 14's or possibly 13's.
