when replacing the maf do you have to take out the airbox to get to the bolts on a 2k max? just wondering what all need to be taken off and stuff. thanks

you can actually take off those two torx bit screws on top of the MAF...and just swap it out with the new one...the tube they give you is pointless if you ask me...and this is a much easier way to swap MAFs...instead of removing the whole airbox and those many screws...ahaha

I agree with steven. If you don't take the torque bits out of the actually MAF sensor, then yes, you have to remove the airbox and sometimes the battery in order to have enough room to get the box out. Not that hard actually. Took me about..5 mins to take everything out.

Definitely get the torx bits. So much easier. Lots of good stuff here for some how-to information: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=398513

just take the air box off you only have to take the actualy 'box' where the filter is off,.. ive done it 3 times before,.. not that hard, and it makes life alot more easy,.. its nearly impossible to try and fish those bottome bolts out,.. IMO put the whole tube in dont mess with the actual sensor

If you can use a screwdriver at all, you can do this in about 5 minutes. It's not that complicated.

The starter install how-to I put together has a section on how to remove the airbox. As stated above...you don't need a whole lotta brains for this. This should steer you in the right direction though. Use the link in the sig.
