Only at nissan of queens

Whats up guys, i know this thread is going to be moved, but today at nissan of queens we received the first 2007 altima is the district. Its an SE model v6 loaded up with everything except navi and let me tell you that this car is absoulutly fkin gorgeous. It's no longer an altima fellas....270hp from the v6 now pushes it above the maxima in power. Fit and finish are top notch...the bose sterio system with the big amp mounted in the trunk is unreal. Anyone in the area id advise you to stop by.

If anyone does my name is Rocco come see me.

Sounds like Nissan has done what it was planning all along - turn the Altima into 'everyman's car, with versions for everybody, including (among other things) a worthy replacement for the traditional Maxima, which will move definitively into the near luxury class (no more 4door sports sedan) when the 7th gen arrives.

That is surprisingly similar to the Maxima & the new G35 in alot of ways. It's even got push-button start. If the Altima is up to 270HP, I wonder what the next gen Max will be...hopefully pushing 300+

It's kind of interesting that the redline isn't at 7100 like the VQ35HR in the new G35, but instead at 6750:

http://nissanhelp.com/Models/2007/Al...-altima-30.jpg

Has anyone heard which version of the VQ35 the new Altima uses?

i was at my stealership yesterday looking for some car mats when i asked my service advisor about the new altima's. he said it was only 265HP and 80% of the engine is the same as the 07 Maxima. Just a few modifications for the start button and CVT.

He also said that it would woop my 05 Max's butt..... OMFG....

You guys give up on the Maxima so quickly. The new Altima is very, very nice but does not 100% fill in the Maxima's spot. I do like the turn signal mirrors though.

Has the interior dimensions changed? I always felt a little cramped in the driver seat.

I bet the next gen Maxima comes out with 275, 300hp would be too big of a jump for Nissan.

Two words for Nissan, RWD PLEASE!!!!!!!

The 20% is what makes this engine put down more power; like dual intakes, for example. Big difference...

I was at a dealership today for an oil change. While waiting I roamed the lot looking at what they had. I saw a handfull of 07 Altimas and REALLY liked them. The rear glass is more sloped, more of a "fastback" look with a shorter trunk. The only part I didn't like were the taillights. I think they wrap around to the side too much. One that I saw was a V6 / 6 speed. Nice to see they're available. I noticed something odd on the 2.5 (I4) model, though. It had dual exhaust tips! HUH?
On a side note, I saw another interesting car there. They had four brand new 2006 Nissan Sentra "Type R Spec V" cars on the lot. The Sentra isn't as good looking as the Maxima or Altima, but these seem like they'd be fun drivers. A 2.5L engine (standard is a 1.8L), 6 speed manual trans, larger brakes front and rear, Brembo 4-piston calipers on the front, sport seats, and so-on. All this on a brand new very light body for only $17,000. The Altimas were priced pretty nice too. THey only had a couple of new 07 Maximas, but they had a bunch of new 06s.

yea def is a nice car...sick that somoene has a 6 speed model...we just got a bunch more in today so maybe we got one but im not sure...the one in my showroom is a CVT. And as far as seeing spec V sentras...i dont know if you ment to say you seen 4 brand new 07's but if you did thats a negitive because the 07 spec-v wont be out until spring. But we have 07 sentras as well and those are really nice cars too.

The Sentras I saw were 06 models. At least that's what the window sticker said.

This new Altima should be more fun to drive.
It's smaller and lighter.
At 3268lbs for 3.5SE, 270HP will translate to some serious power.

Wow, that's one ugly Altima! The rear almost looks like a Honda. I drive an 04' Max and will probably be my last Nissan. IMO, Nissan is going downhill. If you want a quality car, go with an Infiniti, which is what I should've done and coughed up a few thousand more.

That's something new for '07. Both models have dual exhaust. See the image in previous post from nissanusa.com.

First 2007 Altima on Cardomain here................. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2498116

Looks just like the 07 Maxima from the front and side. The rear looks like an Altima and has a more compact look compared to the 07 Max. I like the dual exhaust even on the 2.5 models. That might start car makers putting dual exhaust on 4 cylinder models.

Now we can say the 2007 Altima looks like a 2007 Maxima. Since the 07 Max was first.

I haven't seen the real thing yet but the pictures look good. Still its a smaller car and I remember there was much less elbow room in the ALTI when I was buying my MAX. Switchin from a JEEP this was very important and at that time only three cars had that much room. Mercedes S, Lexus LS and a Maxima.

You guessed right, I couldn't afford the other two so I bought a max. Yupee
