First impressions (cleaned MAF and TB)

Well to start off I just did this really quick 'cause I have to start getting ready for work, I couldhave done a better job and I will this weekend when I have more time.

I cleaned my MAF and TB (somewhat, didn't have time to really clean it good) and took the car out for a drive and right away it seemed like the car started up faster. So far the intermittent studder around 3500-3800 and 4200 up is gone, and the car seems to shift better. So far so good, I will be really cleaning everything this Saturday before I have to go in to work hopefully, or maybe Sunday 'cause I have the day off.

I might make a write up, with pictures, for this when I do it again this weekend. I didn't expect there to bo so much to haveto take off and/or move just to do this, haha, it surprised me.

dont clean the MAF too much, and make sure not to disconnect the TPS from the TB, if u do, make a mark of exactly where it sits. and while ur there clean the IACV as well, but if u do get a new IACV gasket from nissan first, its not reusable. i found all these things out the hard way.

If you cleaned your TB - you should be getting a SES light and your RPM would be going up around 1100. You will then need to figure out a way to execute "relearn the air intake" - manual or Consult II with stealer.

I cleaned my TB without any SES light, but rather better IDLE when I would stall when shifting to Nuetral.

He has a 5.0 gen not a 5.5 gen...it has a cable TB unlike our electronic TB...he'll be fine.

He will be fine no issues but you can relearn those too. You usually don't notice anything though unlike the 5.5s.

After seeing everyone with any kind of hesitation or studder while accelerating everything and everyone says MAF and or coils which I just resently replaced, so I descided to clean mine 'cause my car still has a slight hesitation and then while I was there I cleaned the TB just because.

Everyone should be aware that this isn't something you should attempt on an 02/03 car. A lot of people have messed up their throttlebody and faced some costly repairs. It's OK on an earlier car with the throttle cable but the 02 and up cars with drive by wire can be damaged.

Do some searching and you'll find plenty of posts on the subject. A lot of people have found themselves at the mercy of the dealership after messing with an 02/03 throttlebody.

Yeah, I wasn't in the mood to do this on Sunday, because my car got rear ended Saturday night/Sunday morning. I will do the write up w/pics whenever the car gets fixed and I have time.
