Serpentine Belts

I just changed the thick main belt, I believe it is the one for a/c and the alt.

well unfortunatly my car still whines when it starts up only, for about 10 seconds. but it gets VERY LOUD AND LONGER WHEN MY HEAT IS TURNED ON DURING STARTUP. when i turn it off or change the temp to cold, the whining stops. sorry it's not a whine it's a squeel/sqeak, that is very loud

what else do i have to change?

thanks

It's really not that hard, if you do it the easy way. Get it on the crank pulley all the way, and get it on the p/s pulley as much as it'll go...hold it there, and have somebody crank your car for a split second as you're guiding it on the pulley. I did mine like this a few times, and once on a fifth gen.

the alternator belt wasn't that easy for me and my buddy, it seems that my pulley wasn't coming up all the way, so it mad it very difficult just to do that one belt. well, i guess i have to do it.

Make sure you are VERY familiar with the procedure before you dive in. Many of the adjusting bolts are tightened in the opposite direction.

My MAIN advice is to keep the belt on the crank pulley and on the PS pulley as much as you can get it. The pump does not move very much at one time and you will need to observe belt tension to tell if you are moving in the right direction.
