what do you think the outcome of this one would be...my brother just bought this Acura and it's a sweet car...what's the stats on it and how would my 98' Max hold up against it...Any opinions on the TL...it's not the Type S though...Thanks for any feedback...

You'd beat him handedly. You, around 6.7 sec to 60 and he's around 7.4 secs.

I say you'd beat him barely. You're more like 7.0 (assuming you're stock) and he's more like 7.2. 4th gens got slower the newer they were. 6.6 for a '95 vs. 7.1 for a '99. Emissions, sound-deadening weight, larger wheels (for the SE)...all factors.

ummmmm....

if this is a 1998 3.2TL, than it has 200hp, and according to edmunds, it does 0-60 in 8.8!!! now i dont know if that is right, but i would have to say that since its an automagic, it should do the 0-60 in the 8 second range, so you should spank it easily with a 5-speed.

In Magazine world you should beat him but on the street/track is another story. You can have bad start...wheel spin/bog etc... It is all talk until you get down to business. You "should" beat him if you know how to launch reasonable well.

I stand corrected...if this is a '98 TL, you should certainly pull on him. I was thinking of the newer 225-hp ones.

You will beat him. I creamed a 200 TL a week ago 0-100 I probably won by 3-5 car lengths. I have an intake and a warpspeed Y...with a 5 speed.
