Carbon fiber hoods?

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a group deal buy of carbon fiber hoods from fiber images like the last order, if so please list your name on the form below.

If there is enough interest ill contact fiber images to see if they would like to do another batch of them.

Do you know if they make them with Silver weave? And are the edges squared off or rounded? Price?

Well if enough people were interested i could contact AEI and see if we bought say 5 hoods they could give us a lower price like <$500. would that spark any interest?

this thread shouldn't be here.

let's just say there was a CF hood being made for say...$500 +150 shipping.
who would SERIOUSLY pay for a CF hood for $650? RIGHT NOW...not next week..not when your tax return comes in. the $650 is me estimating on the very low side. i doubt FI will even make hoods for that cheap on the 3rd gen.

maximahappy...that hood in the FS section asking for $500...you're saying that's too much money they you shouldn't be looking for a CF hood. if you guys haven't already noticed there's a world wide shortage on carbon fiber. so that means the shops that makes the hoods, fenders, trunks, etc etc are going to raise their prices....simply supply and demand concept. even back then when FI did the hoods the prices were i believe more then $500.

the Fiberimages made a very small batch for the community and it was a HUGE PITA to get payment from everyone. from time to time we see all these posts pop up asking who wants a hood and they NEVER pan out because once the 3rd gen community hears the price they all shy away from it.

on DanNy's post..

Most of the people in the 3rd gen forum now are just trying to keep these cars road worthy.. Most 3rd gens have over 100k-200k miles on them now..This equals to most guys on here dumping their $$ into maintence costs, not $600 hoods...Also,most all the guys that were seriously modding their 3rd gens have now moved on to newer cars...

For instance,my next big "mod" will be a fresh engine to replace my 300,000+ mile engine and rebuilding my roaring tranny....Not a hood..

Personally,ii dont even like the look of c/f hoods, too honda civic ricey for my taste..

I'm interested. I'm more interested in not paying so damn much.

Fiber Images
624 E Rancho Vista Blvd.
Palmdale CA, 93550

Phone: 661-274-9500
Phone: 661-274-1195

Call them and see what they will say about a GD.
If they are asking for 10 people or more then say thanks and hang up. 5 might be do-able...but 10...no way.

so jadegreenmax...if you want it then call them. post the terms of the GD once you have the info.

do you guys have any idea how long it took to get 10 people last time? and thats when there were people around willing to drop money to have stuff done, now its even worse cause half those people are gone and the other half already have CF hoods

I'll sell my hood for $6500 car included.

I don't think they do, Jay. I was just talking to my wife about that exact thing. Most guys here nowadays are pre-you, pre-Izzy, pre-Michael, etc... you get the idea.

But ya can't fault anyone for trying...
