Alternate throttle signal pin & ECTS experiment.

A33B.

I'm using pin # 73 for throttle signal on for my SAFCII. I tried using the same pin for my wideband,(PLX R300) but it causes noise (voltage fluctuations) when both SAFC and WB are connected to that one throttle signal wire.

What other pin(s) can be used for throttle signal (TPS)? I'm guessing pin # 72 can also be used, and gives the same output? (0-5v with respect to throttle position)

Also, anyone ever use the ECTS (0-5v) and actually get a semi-accurate coolant reading by configuring the voltage with respect to ECT? I think I got a decent range of accuracy using a linear curve fit. Any one else get anything similar?

The R300 has a pretty wide range of gauge configurations. A custom set-up let me get pretty close to being almost dead on.( ) It asks for a value for every 0.5 volt. And using some Excel, I was able to extract numbers using that curve while referencing the FSM values below.

...V....*C
4.4 . -10
3.5... 20
2.2... 50
0.9... 90

Anyone have a better idea?

You should be able to use pin 83 which is the TPS. Pin 73 is actually the APPS (accelerator pedal position sensor).

There was somewhat of a discussion on that here, as well as a data log that Hayes put together for me to show the DBW lag between the 2 sensors:

I remember that. And yes, it's only relative to the pedal, since cruising in cruise control, my SAFC tells me 0.0% ..

Right now my glovebox is in my backseat. I need to find a good mounting spot for the PLX unit as awell as a way to snake the o2 sensor wire into my test pipe and back into the cabin. But after I get home today, I will get familiar with pin 83.
