Help...Car feels slugish and slow !!

I dont know whats up with my car, it just feels terrible.

Feels alot slower than usual and feels sluggish.

Mostly noticeable in 3rd and 4th gear at WOT the rpms just climb alot slower than usual??

Don't know what it could be.

The clutch slipped on me before but it hasn't givin me any problems lately? could that have anything to do with it?

Also I think me passenger wheel bearing is on its way out, its starting to make an annoying hum....

I have been noticing it for the past week or so, but i raced my friends Lexus IS which i used to be very close to, and he pulled away from me so fast it looked like i hit the brakes!!

Dunno what the heck it could be

MAF??

I have been noticing it for the past week or so, but i raced my friends Lexus IS which i used to be very close to, and he pulled away from me so fast it looked like i hit the brakes, so i know something is wrong....

Help me out guys.

most likely the MAF going bad. That's exactly what happened to my previous pre-MAF-failure.

If it is his MAF, is there a benefit to installing a 2001 MAF over the proper 02-03 model other than the price?

there is no extra benefit of the 22680-2Y001 (2k1 MAFs) other than the price difference BUT it WILL trigger the SES light if the you dont transfer the thermistor "wire". I have used both numerous of times...cannot tell any difference. DaveB seems to be the guy for the MAFs. I say go will the 2k1 MAF.

dave b currently charging $118+shipping for 2k1 MAF. i purchased mine 2k1 MAF at www.courtseynissan.com for $109+9 bucks for shipping.its the same part that dave b sells. comes with 1 year warranty. part # (22680-VQ30D) i might recieve it tuesday because i paid $33 for 2nd day air. but if you want to buy 2k2 MAF that is around $450. the reason my MAF died because i used the electronic cleaner, i dont think you should even try to clean the maf sensor with any type of cleaner because it will just ruine your sensor. the best choice is to replace it! I use that cleaner every now and again, and my MAF is still fine.

what type of car you have i mean what year? mine is 01 and the MAF sesnor couldnt handle this cleaner. by the way did you blow it with your mouth during the cleaning procedure or did you insert the cotton q-tip, paper nepkins etc. to clean the metal thingy? well i did and i think this is the reason i blew my MAF sensor. OH YA and did you unlug your battery negative cable before unplugging the MAF sensor? well i didnt . there are few things that i didnt follow during the cleaning procedure so i am regretting now.

When is the last time you did a tune up? Spark plugs, fuel filter, you know, the easy cheap stuff! Thats where I would start, just pull your plugs and look at them or if you dont know what to look for post a pic of them on here. Plugs can tell you a lot about a motor.

maxspeed96ct,
I was reading your thread and got a chuckle. You were experiencing problems with the car being slow and sluggish, yet your avatar is the Flintstone's car....

I hope you are able to rectify your problem! Good luck.....

Did not unplug the negative battery terminal, and I took the sensor out of its housing, sprayed the hell out if it and the thermistor, and reassembled it.
