02/03 Bose to replace an 01 Bose

Can the 02/03 Bose w/ CD Changer, be used to replace the 01 Bose without?

I asked this in the Audio section and am getting no replies, figure I would try the 5th Gen.

Thanks Guys...

The headunit fits right in. If youre talkin bout the speakers too in the rear deck u might need a lot of work to get them to fit. But the headunit is a direct fit and works fine. If you have steering colume controls, they wont work...

Bose has to be the suckiest pile of fetid dung ever to be put in a car dashboard. I just hooked up the 4th head unit I've tried in my '03 in the 2-1/2 months I've owned it and sure enough, it refuses to play any CD. At least this one will eject them.

So here's my summary:
1) Bought car: existing Bose system display and 6-CD changer non-functional.
2) Tried salvage yard radio: display worked, and it played a few CDs, but then refused to eject the CDs and went into lock-down mode ("CD Error F0") and refused to play any more CD's. Ever. Lost 5 CDs on that one.
3) Tried second used radio: Display worked, but it would only eat CDs, and not play nor eject them. "CD Error F0" again. Lost another CD.
4) Had original radio repaired: Display works, and CD's load and eject, but it makes a farting noise when trying to play a CD, and nothing plays.

I've HAD IT with Blose....

Yea i feel you on that.......well AT LEAST YOU DIDNT have a BOSE SUB that kept F'in with you. Ive had my car for 4- 1/2 months, and 3 weeks into having it, the stock BOSE SYSTEM SUB started clipping and cutting in and out. I didnt know whether it was the SUB or the amp and i didnt car. i told myself i was just gonna deal with it until i feel like swapping the system. 2 DAYS LATER IT DIED. the bose speakers word and the HU worked. BUT NO BASS!!! and those bose speakers are horrible on midbass....ITS LIKE IT DOESNT EXIST. So i just had the overhaul of all new speakers, new subs, dynamat, and HU.

Cool., I guess I will just replace the HU with an aftermarket and get the adapter.

Now, with the needed adapters... Will all speakers and sub work?
