4th gen intake midpipe on a vq30dek 5th gen?
now looking at pics of the 4th gen engine bay vs 5th gen vq30dek, it looks like the TB is farther back, closer to the firewall than on the 4th gen, so based on clearance alone, there would be issues using the 4th gen midpipe on a 5th gen. id still like to see if anyone has done it though.
nope i dont think it will work as a direct swap, theres a really small vacuum line that runs to the vias box or something, not really shure what it does, but im pretty shure you could go to autozone and get some longer hoses and hook em up to that 4th gen.
Where there's a will theres a way.

Here are pics of my setup. My car is a 4th gen and it's a 5-speed swap, so not everything in the engine bay is exactly like you have it. But, it has a DE-K with the 4th gen midpipe:

As you can sort of see in the bottom pic, I have the accordion piece coming off the TB, a straight piece of generic Pep Boys intake piping (covered with metal tape because I'm scared it'll crack or something), and then a big fat hose coupler. Those flexible bits and the new breather/IACV hoses make it work (barely). The MAF is just connected directly to the midpipe. It was a VERY tight fit...
