seems as just recently when I turn on my heat, it sounds like maybe the motor or something and it's not loud at all, you can only hear it really if the car is not on or sometimes you can hear it while i'm driving. It's not like the level of noise changes or anything, it's just the constant sound that didn't use to be there. Everything works perfect, just the noise......I hate noises . I remember when my heater core went out on my 89se a couple years ago in the dead of winter and that was the worst thing to change ever.....10 hours FTL. I'm hoping nothing like that is on it's way of happening

 

could be something stuck in your filter or squirrel cage thats causing the ticking, i would check there first

Mine chirps slightly when on '1'. It's the squirrel cage fan hitting the housing.

 

Happened to me a while ago..turned out to be some leaves in there. Vaccuumed them out and was good.

Latching onto this thread, my fan squeaks, like it needs to be lubed..is this possible? It's kind of irritating, it's low and constant, whenever the fan is on at any speed.

 

thats crazy I just got the same problem 2 days ago....annoying noise drive me crazy It seems to come on once in a while but i just hit my glove box and hope it goes away...havent checked it out yet. I will first thing in the morning.
