Just got Fast blinking LED turn signals. do you like them?

I went to autozone and replaced my tail turn signal bulbs with LED RED 1156R. it was not easy to get those bulbs into the connector socket because the OEM1156 bulbs are a bit diffrent than new LED 1156R but i managed to push them in with force and they fit straight in. ok then i noticed that all of my turn signal bulbs have become quicker comparing to the stock timing and also are nice and bright LED. now they blink faster and produce more light because of new LED bulbs. in front i got silverstar amber 1157 they look better than any stock bulbs out there and they noticed bluish when off. anyway if any of you want to get fast blinking turn signals go with 1156R RED LED. you wont be disapointed. cost $18.00 heres the picture>>>

load equalizer? you mean some kind of relay that slows the flash intervals?

No, it's like a resistor which equalizes the LED's in a 12 Volt circuit. When you use LED's in a bulb socket/circuit, the amperage is so small that the car will think that the bulb is burned out. The load equalizer balances this load out like it's a regular incandescent bulb.

And no load equalizer = LED burning out much faster.

how and where do we put that load equalizer device? i really like the look of LED but i guess the fast blinking can put me in trouble.

its easy - you're just adding the resistor to the circuit. You splice one end to the ground wire, and the other end to the... black wire? Something like that. Works as advertised though! you'll need one for each light.

Does anything happen if you use LEDs for the brake lights and not the signals?

it should work fine. i think load resistor is needed for turn signals only. i am going to replace the brake bulbs with led and will let you know.

I tried LEDs in my brake lights and everytime I'd hit the brakes, a red bulb in the instrument cluster would come on (the one that tells you you have a brake light out). I got tired of that real quick, but when I put the originals back in, the brighter filament on one bulb was out. I got a new bulb and it worked fine, but it was kind of a pain.

My $.02, since you asked, is that LED replacement brake or turn signals look extremely cheesy unless you get them custom made to fill the whole housing like a few ppl on here have done.

Ive been doing some research since finding this thread, and came across this site:

http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html#

It discusses the load resistor and explains that not to expect the LEDS to be brighter than regular filament bulbs unless one particu;ar style is chosen.

I have no affiliation with that site and Ive never bought from them, so this isnt a testamonial for them... just good reference.

They may not be illegal but they can still get you pulled over. A cop will see them and think you have a bulb out and pull you over. You may not get a ticket for the blinkers but the cop will probably take a hard look at the rest of the car. Who needs the hastle? Besides, they do look ricey.

i have the same problem with the LEDS, even though i have the load resistor, i've haven't found time to install them. i don't get hassled by the cops and i live with the best of the worst cops....NYPD!!!
if ur getting LEDS, get the refracting LEDS 7740/7743. they definitely shine the entire taillight at nite.
