wow... i haven't been on this site in years.
anyway, for as long as i've had my intake, i haven't cleaned/replaced the filter. It just struck me the other day that i might need to get that done.... typically after how many miles should this be done? i think i've had mine on there for about 60k miles. i know, it's horrible. any help would be appreciated.

I'd suggest you clean it right away. Because the Injen filter is a k&n type, you can use the cleaner and recharging kit. If the filter looks physically worn, get a new one. You should do a visual check every 5K or every oil change. Cleaning will determine how often you drive or if the filter looks like it needs to be cleaned.

 

With 60K of dirt in/on that filter, I'd suggest getting a new one. Then clean it at least twice a year.

 

i would just get a new filter. i clean mine once everyother month only because its a simple thing so i dont mind it. i also have a outerwear for mine so cleaning aint bad.

 

so where can i buy a new filter? i guess it's a k&n filter, but what size would i need to get?

IIRC, I have the K&N 2820. You ought to be able to get K&N at most AutoZone type stores.
