Street Scene Speed Grille Insert

Hey guys...
Does anybody have the Street Scene "Speed Grille" insert on their 4th gen? I've been looking to redo the grille on my 97 for a while, but I haven't had time to do the "bulge" application. I don't really like the billet look on the max, so I want to do the mesh look. I did it on my old 92 Max SE, and it looked sweeeeet. You can see the grille I'm talking about on the stillen website:
http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?i...Street%20Scene
or on the Street Scene website, you can look at the Installation instructions, and you can somewhat see how it looks on the actual grille, but not really, which is why I am asking. Here is the link:
http://www.streetsceneeq.com/product_list.asp?mi=5

Thanks

the mesh looks like the same thing you can get at home depot/lowes.

Its $1.45 for the mesh at home depot. Buy it with some zip ties, and cut to fit in 20 mins. It will take a little longer with a 97+ grill than a 95/96 grill, but is definately worth it in cost.

See you have the 96. I have a 97, and the grille is much different, because there is a bar that goes through the middle of it. The just recently started coming out with the mesh grille for a 97...
MDeezy you understand where I'm coming from...but the grille's on the front of your car look sweet. I'm just nervous about messing up the grille doing it with that bar that goes across the middle.

if you mess up what do you have to lose?...$4? put the mesh behind the bar and cut the black slits.

+1 on the solid mesh for the 97-99's. i spent a long night making one of the bulge mesh ones which came out OK across the parking lot but not so hot up close. as he said, these years have that gay chrome taped bar through the middle which sucks, and doesn't allow you to make a solid mesh front. here's a question, and i ask because i don't know anyone with a 95-96:

is the grille the same size and shape as the 97-99's discounting the pattern on it? like could i buy a 96 grille to make the solid mesh one and put on my 98? thanks

oh wow, that is hot. i love the black race. and cheap too. i'm guessing the plastic trim comes primer or whatever color and you paint to match? (gets the itchy credit card finger)

*edited to say - do you know if this will fit 98? they dont list the 97-99, but i was wondering if that is just because it's the same size as the 95-96...

I have using that rain gutter from Lowe's to my Civic back in the day.. but over time with ice and salt it turns black and it doesn't look very pretty. .

Just something to think about.

I made one for my 97. Well 2 actually. The first one rusted so I threw some clear coat on a second one and it's holding up really well, no discoloration yet. You can check my sig and cardomain. Don't have any pictures of the newer one though. Like people said, looks good from a distance but not so nice close up.

95-96 have a different fit than the 97-99 I believe.

^^^ yeah, i emailed grille-tech, and they said it won't fit, nor will they make one for the 97-99. disappointing. i'm thinking about trying cutting out the whole center of the grille and just using the frame of it to make a solid mesh one for my 98, it looks too busy and tacky with the chrome bar running through.
