Has this happened to anyone else?

A funny thing happened ,after work,i broke my keys inside the door. The locksmith asked me what a year my max was,and his reaction: "A '95?Wow,thought it was a 2000 or something." Not trying to brag, just wondering if this is a universal reaction to our 4th gens these days.

That happened to me. A lot of people didn't believe that it was that old. It even got me out of a ticket once.

People think my car is some sort of spaceship or something but I always tell them "No, it's not. It's a Nissan Maxima and you remember that." Then I usually put my thumb out the window and slam the gas, resulting in change in position in the sun as a resultant of the earth turning from my Toyo's Godlike amount of grip.

From: You can't spell 'Wisconsin is insanely boring" without "Wisconsin."
I've gotten asked quite a few times if my '96 is anywhere from a '00-'03. It's kind of funny seeing their reaction when they realize how old it is. Like Kevin, I've also gotten out of a ticket because the cop liked my car.

Quite a few ppl have been suprised at the age of my car. Most think it's 2000-01 ish....my ex g/f's neighbor thought it was brand new (she lived about 100 feet away)...if i may say so, i think my car does look new or fairly new from 100 feet.

this is just proof that the beauty of our 4th gens is still there!
