cruise control and traction control after 5 spd swap
I thought TCS manipulated the brakes and was independent of the ECU and transmission. How would the car electronics even know that you are automatic or manual ... shouldn't matter. Cruise control will work after you swap. The thing is that people need to wire the cruise control cut-off in-series with the brake cruise control cut-off to prevent any accidents.
Remember the '99 was like a new car. There are MANY features on the '99 that emulate the 00-01 such as electric EGR ... and a nice TCS feature. Oh might I forget to mention ... extra restrictive emissions crap.
TCS was for '99 only.

there's a switch the clutch pedal presses against when it's fully released. you need to wire that switch in series with the switch the brake pedal presses against. i have some advice from my experience w/ the 5spd conversion here:

that way when the cruise is on, it turns off if you tap either the brake or clutch.

There must be a switch that goes to the transmission. The BCU must think that the car is in Park or Neutral.
