Brake Hose Bolt Question

When replacing my rear calpiers last night, I had a question on the brake hose bolt. The bolt has a upper hole and a lower hole. The fluid flows in the uppper hole and out the lower hole. The brake hose also has a hole in it. Do the brake hose hole and the upper bolt hole have to line up, or does the fluid get in there no matter what due to the pressure?

careful, don’t over torque them, i snapped one of those bolts, pain in the butt to replace, there hollow so they dont hold much torque but they got to be tight so it dose not leak

I was just thinking this myself yesterday. Not only when I was looking at my SS clutch line, I was thinking "damn . . . do I have to tighten the bolt down and line it up?!" and I was planning on it. plus when changing my rear pads, I need to replace one of the calipers and I thought the same thing again.

Just seems like the brakes would be more effective with the fluid being pressed directly through the hole, but I guess it doesn't matter since it gets in there anyways.

I would think so too, it would be 2x as hard for fluid to get in if everything was lined up.
