why do my headlights dim when ....

ok... my headlights are dimming when stepping on the brake (suspect abs drawing current) and when rolling up windows.

i have a 97 se max. i dont think the udp would be causing any of these issues.

here is my story. i drove the car at night obviously with the lights on and the car killed the battery, the alternator wasnt keeping the battery charged and it then drained out and died. the shops just said it was a bad battery. they replaced the battery. it then died about two weeks after that - battery drained. i checked it with a meter and then changed out the alternator. alternator seemed good for two days, then a whine and then dead battery again - i could drive the car just had to turn the lights off to get home in the dark (it was two or 3 blocks away).

changed the alternator again and it seems to be working only the secound day today and i will have to meter it again, but ... the lights are still dimming when pressing the brake and rolling up windows (when windows are up also i push the up button to roll up the windows same thing).

whats going on here? i will have to see if the new alternator is bad again, but i think this is a common problem with max's (the whole dimming headlights deal)... i would like to know if anyone found a fix for that, or is it just alternator related... someone who knows that answer would be greatly appreciated! dealers? repair shops? anyone chime in

Load test the battery and also check the voltage with the engine at about 2K rpm and most electrical stuff on (HL, Fogs, Defroster...) if the Voltage drops low then the alternator is not charging the battery...

If you keep cycling a new battery down it will kill the new battery too.

Also;

Check your battery ground points on the engine, as well as the terminals on the actual battery.

anyone know the part number or the part to ask for - at a dealer...
positive battery cable/clamp
negitive battery cable/clamp
i want to replace these.

also want to replace the alternator clip - i had someone call a dealer for me and said it was going to be 600$ or more for just a damn clip cause the whole wire assembly would have to be replaced. anyone have any clue? im just going to goto the junk yard if all else fails, but leme know a part number if ya guys know.
