Hazard and Defrost lights out.

The Hazard and Defrost lights do not illuminate with the rest of the cabin lighting. Are they on the same fuse? A friend with a '96 had a similar issue but didn't really care so I didn't either, until now.

LED time. problem is once u put LEDs in there, everything else looks dim. I'm sure all the interior center console illumination + clock run on the same fuse

If the bulbs are burnt, you can get bulbs at radioshack that are a perfect replacement. I know cause I just did mine yesterday. I decided against led cause I don't want to deal with soldering resistors.

I wouldn't THINK the two would go out at the same time. I will probably pull it and check the connections but as I said, I have seen this issue in another Maxima.

can you give any more info on this, like the exact radioshack part #? thanks.
My bulbs were both out, but I hit a good sized crater in the road, and the thump somehow instantly managed to knock them back on . I know they're probably going to go out again, so I figure i should probably change them out.

Sure. http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search

Part number is Model: 272-1092

I should have taken pictures when I done it. Anyway unhook the old bulb's prong from its rubber housing with a tiny screwdriver or a pin. The radioshack bulb's prong are flexible enough so that you can bend them into the rubber piece just like the factory bulbs. Transfer the old blue bulb cover to the new bulb and your done. If it is not clear what I am talking about let me know. I'll take it back out and take some pictures.

I believe they are. But if it is the fuse (# 18 under dash) you would have lost a whole lot of illumination lightings, not just those 2. The glove box, power window, ashtray, combo meter, and many other illuminations are all tied to the #18 fuse which is what the hazard runs off of.

when I removed my OEM radio, I "fried" ( don't knwo how) the lights for Digital climate, rear defrost and hazard switch..

I purchased replacement bulbs for the digital climate control ( $10/each at dealer)...

but thanks Fithos, I will go buy the bulbs at radio shack/the source to replace hazard and rear defrost...

thanks again

thanks.

Does anyone know offhand if these radioshack bulbs will also fit the digital climate control units? all of mine are dead and I'd just like to know if I should pick up a bunch of them while i'm there. thanks

I'll try that, thanks.

Really don't want this thread to go off topic, but it's just a great photo and what I and many other new yorkers wish would be rebuilt in that area. If you, or any of the moderators find it inappropriate for whatever reason, PM me, and I'll change it.

Sorry, last OT post i promise,

And fwiw, I completely agree, they should've rebuilt that area to look atleast from the skyline exactly the same, by changing it and making the buildings smaller, in a way were saying the terriorists won. So no, no problem here

Thanks

Yeah I the climate control bulbs are very hard to find a replacement. I tried the leds but it seems too localized (bright in some area and dim in other areas). It is probably because I can't find a bulb that the oem blue cover will fit over. I also tried the sanding the front of the bulb technique as shown in the faqs but it didn't work out that well for me. There are some bulbs which are exactly the same size as the oem at radioshack but they use wires instead of prongs. In the end I just went and bought a used climate control for 40 bucks.

BTW those micro bulbs from radioshack also works for the ashtray light too if it is burnt out (like mine).
