LED lights (tails, etc)

Hey all,

Did anyone try and swap the bulbs in your tailights, sidemarkers, reverse lights etc with LED bulbs? I don't mean a new light board with multiple little LEDs, i mean the ones that have a regular bulb socket but have a bunch of little LEDs on them?

And if so - anyone has pix?

don't do it. led's are directional and you get a bunch of small red dots. it's not what you think it may be. there, I saved you 30 bucks and disappointment.

I was actually going to do the following:

Purchase TWO 1157 White LED Bulbs (front corner lights next to headlight - these)
Purchase FOUR 1156 Amber LED Bulbs (front/back turn signals - these)
Purchase TWO H3 White LED Bulbs (fog lights - these)

So this isn't worth it?

Send them to my email - ilyakolodiychik@hotmail.com and I'll host them for you. Or try a free hosting site for pics...google.com and search for some.

i currently have 35 led direct placement bulbs and wasn't happy with the output including the hyper flashing (now i need load resistors). Has anyone tried to sand down the top of the leds for this? I guess I might be the first even tho the bulbs were like 8 bucks each for me...

hey there...i have also thought about getting leds and found these, they are 13 bucks for one and are available in red, amber and whinte...shipping is like 2 dollars for an 100 dollar order....the description says that this is a spring loaded bulb and will fit thru a 1 inch hole and then expand to 3 1/4th inches.....

Do your trun signals hyper-flash with just leds in the taillights? (no leds in the amber turns)

also, the outer tails have a reflector built into them. My guess is your seeing the reflector due to a camera flash.

Try taking the same shot, but from a different angle and let's see some daytime shots please.

no they shouldnt.. but if u put LEDS in the turn signals u need a 6 ohm 50 watt resistor in parallel

brake lights arent that bright during the day regardless so weather the lights are LEDs or normal bulbs it still wont really get seem the same. No artificial light (on a car atleast) will be brighter than the natural sun. So during the day, most people (hopefully) use common sense and when they see the car is slowing down in front of them, they do the same. Night time is when you want to have the most shine

Anyone had problems with polarities on the 1156 LEDs purchased from eBay? I did, had to cut off the wires and swap them.
