I just broke my lug nut off with part of the stud still in it while trying to take my tire off. Is this a hard/expensive fix? Should I even bother trying to take it to the shop that put the lug nuts on crooked and have them fix it? Thanks.

 

Go to autozone, buy a new stud, install it.

Not more than $5, take wheel off, bang them out, put new one in its place, tighten the lug, loosen the lug, tighten again, loosen, then install.

So you can just bang the studs out with a hammer? I install the new stud by screwing in and tightening the lug nut?

 

I usually use an old shirt/rag and put it over the hammer. Or just use a mallet.

Had a headache after I changed all my studs one day :

Find some washers which fit around the new stud, too. The stud will probably be too long to pull through with just the lug nut, so you can stack some washers on it. You'll see what I mean when you put the new one in.

if you dont know what your doing just buy the studs at autozone or something and get a body shop to replace them/it for you. it shouldn't be expensive..
