Can you use 2K coil packs on a 96SE?

I found a set of coil packs but they are for a 2K (3.0L) and wondered if I can use them on my 96SE? anyone know if the parts are the same?
Thanks,
John

why would you even consider putting 5th gen coils on your car? In case you havent ran into it on the org, 5th gens are NOTORIOUSLY PLAGUED with bad MAFs and coils. So I wouldnt even bother.

But besides that, the fronts are identical (they'll bolt up fine), the rears are a bit different but will still fit and bolt up. Its the harness plugs that are different. So Im not sure if the 4th gen harness will fit over the 5th gen coil plug, someone else will have to jump in for that. Good luck

The only reason I considered it was I can get them cheap. I know that my other Max (not the one I drive) has one bad coil pack, the last time I changed plugs in it, it was in bad physical shape, so the electronics can't be much better. problem is I don't rememberif it was a front pack or rear pack...(think it may be rear) If anyone has any (coil packs for a 96SE) they want to sell, that they know are good, I'm interested.....PM me
Thanks,
John
