I recently purchased a 2001 Maxima SE and am contemplating a rear sway bar. I'd be interested to hear if this made the car more flat/better handling as well as if there are any side effects. Have read more than once that some end up with a clunking or banging in hard cornering. Also concerned that there is no 'matching' front sway bar replacement...is car too loose? Finally, which should I get, Addco or $tillen ($260 is steep). Thanks.

Congrats on the new Maxima. The RSB improves handling significanlty without any negatives effects. I have the Stillen RSB and there is no clunking or banging any time and I have driven it quite hard before. A front sway bar is already present in the stock setup. A thicker front sway bar would increase understeer. Adding the RSB will give you more neutral handling. I think the Stillen RSB is worth the extra $$$ over the Addco. But, both should function equally well.

Do a search and check the faqs for even more information on the RSB.

Stillen for sure

Get the Stillen and make the additional investment of the FSTB. Changes the handling somewhat dramatically. You will be able to charge corners and the car will hardly roll. The real test is when you chage a corner hard, and you hear this disturbing bang. Honestly its great. the bang comes from the RSB doing its job of keeping everything together and on the ground. It was the first Mod I made and has been a pleasure every day. I tend to drive my Max hard and this takes it from a family sedan to a sports sedan quickly.

I'd say depends on how you want to spend your cash. In my opinion, I couldn't see an extra ~$100 of performance coming from the Steail' bar. So I went with Addco. I had clunking, adjusted the brackets and it is silent now.
