Marbles in my car?

For a couple of months I have been hearing something that sounds like marbles rattling around in my car when I start going about 3-5mph and stop. It doesn't happen when I'm going >10mph then stop. The sound is coming from under the passenger seat or right below the center consol. Today I took everything that could move around out of the car to see if something was just rattling around but I still heard the noise. I don't have a jack or ramps so I can't look under the car for anything. Anyone know what this could be? I just installed the ebay B&M sts last July but I don't think that would cause the noise. Any info would be appreciated.

When you installed your shifter there a ring you locked in place on the inside of the car on the chassis section to hold the ball on the shifter and hold the shifter up in place. They sometimes become loose and will rattle around. But I dont know if that is your problem just check everything on the inside of the console and see if any of the shifter stuff has became loose.

lift the car look at the exhaust pipe at the location where the rattle is coming from, sometimes the cover on the catalytic converter (i think thats what its called ) is rusted off and sits on top and rattles. i have seen this on my max and on two other cars. i still drive around with mine of cause i cant get ti off, i have to remove the whole exhaust and thats a pain.

I checked the shifter and everything seemed fine with that, I may double check it today. There was nothing in the center console, at least as far as my hand would fit in there. I will check the exhaust as soon as I can get under my car, and I hope that the problem lies there and can be easily fixed. Thanks for the replies.

Could be the air bag sensor. There is a small accelerometer that moves back and forth. I can really hear my side air bag ones in the b pillars.

That sounds like what it is. I got a chance to look under my car yesterday and I could not find anything that was moving that could cause a noise. It sounded like it was coming from behind the airbag so I took the glove box off and could not find any problems. Is there any way to stop the noise without dangering my passengers?

The same thing happened to my 95. It was the lower tie rod. Check that.

Thanks. Would it just be able to move back and forth and not be set in one position?

I don't hear it when I'm rolling, only when I stop. The CV axles where replaced when I bought the car and the only have 20,000 miles on them so I wouldn't think that was them. I'll check the next time I get a chance though.

Thanks for the link. What the link told me to check is what I've already checked...muffler, exhaust system, and heat shields. No rattle in the muffler or cat and I took off my heat shields.
