interior bulbs, blown out or something else

ok i have an auto climate control unit on my 98. Well i haven't drove at night too often but last night i go look with my dash lights on, the side on the left where its, "AUTO, ECON and OFF" and the row under my LCD for the defroster, recirc +/- light was out.

So i figured both bulbs are out time to either get some LED's or replacement bulbs. Well like most of us guys here tho before we deem them broken or anything in that matter you gotta bang on it or tweak it a little. So i did and the bottom row turned on and stayed on. Bottom row as in the defroster, reciric, +/- light. So now that light works and the AUTO, ECON, oFF one doesn't its spread out evenly enough for it to be powered by another bulb/led. Now i know all you guys with soldering experience, would consider this an excuse to change up some LED in their but i'm trusty with the soldering iron what so ever. So is there a bulb that i can change out instead. I dont care for color , just that it lights up. I might just say screw it if its LED, solder in only.

Radio shack sells replacement bulbs, $1.49 for two. It is very easy to change.
