Just wanted to post some photos of the unpacking of the coilovers plus some bushings....

thats whats up, dam and u got nice weather over there in the west, so jealous. The saga continues lol

 

I recently got the same kit from Cattman, had them installed at Maximum Tuning. At the same time, w/145k on the original suspension, replaced as much rubber as possible w/ES bushings, plus new tie rod ends (inner and outer) and LCAs.

I ended up raising the coilovers a 1/2 inch (8 turns) from what Cattman recommends, because the drop was too low. As is now, the height is good, with alot of the wheel well gap closed up.

Pros: At this point, I can dive into any off ramp as fast as I want, an incredible difference from the stock handling. With the rsb and fstb, it's amazing how level the car remains no matter what I do. I drove my chick's Altima recently just to remind myself of what the stock handling was like.

Cons: I'm experiencing squeaks that are annoying, particularly from the rear...if they continue, I'll want someone w/more knowledge to tell me what's going on. I know coilovers are prone to this, but I had hoped that since the kit was designed for Maximas that it wouldn't be the case.

 

Poly Bushings are known to make more noise than the stock rubber bushings, since they are more rigid and dont give as much.

 

How much does this kit go for?

 

If bushings are the case, I would HEAVILY grease it up with some "white lithium." This will at least temperarily cure it and you will now know where to pinpoint the squeaks.

Are these the coilovers that are "conditioned" for the maxima?? Meaning no dampening adjustments?

 

Those things are very nice. How much do they run for now?

btw, Cattman has the kit on his weekly sale post. And yes, dampening is not adjustable, only ride height, as these are designed for the max.

 

So dampering is already set, so no bottom outs?

 

I've never seen coilovers that you have to assemble yourself

 

Yes,some coilovers you have to assemble yourself. Never seen one for a maxima where you have to assemble yourself, guess this is a first. Post pics when you assemble them NISMOpower

 

I was shocked cause I didnt know cattman offered Coilovers for us, and man would have been nice to get them pre-assembled.

looks like you should have a smoother ride (pending on dapening,pre-load settigns).

 

They partnered with Progress Suspension to develop them. I thought about them, but despite the arguments against it, I still wanted something with adjustable dampening.

 

I've already taken some photos of the assembly with the rears so far, I will be doing the fronts today. Unfortunately I didn't have the tools in my bedroom since all my tools are at a friends house.

I'll probably have them on tonight....

How low is the drop you anticipate from this kit?

 

they are coil overs so he adjust the height. unless you meant to ask how long he anticipates on going....

 

Damn Chris, that's alot of mods. You have to let me know how u like everything when u get it installed, I need to install my ES bushings still.

Surprised at how many members here have Progress coilovers. I'm waiting to have mine installed. It was either between these or the Teins I figured I'd give these a shot. Haven't heard much about the brand myself.

 

I think the great thing is having a guy like Cattman behind them. I'm sure it's the exact opposite of dealing with D2 Racing Sport.

 

Some shots for those who want to see... Decided to wait for the ES Suspension to be done on another day. I was using another Org Members garage while he was at work...All my tools are there...Thanks Grant (Sig=MaxBoost something).
I basically came off of AGX/Sprints (Rear 1coil Cut, Which is also for sale now). Just on the ride home, the suspension feels more direct like I know what is going on. Need to get an alignment done, once i'm able to really see what the big deal coilovers are i'll let you guys know. And don't worry I will fully test these out.....

talk about the slammed look ... damn. Can you get a picture of the car behind it and try to capture a lot of the street. It gives you an idea of what the car would look like if you were driving behind it.

After runnning the Cattman coilovers for almost 1.5 years, I still have no squeaks or rattles. Something is definately wrong w/ your setup.

 

Damn, that looks amazing.. Cattman has been carrying different progress coilovers for a long time. Infact, I read somewhere they used to have some with adjustable dampening, but egh w/e..

 

Make sure you get short shank lug nuts, Honestly to say just because of the type of lug nuts that is needed I feel like buying new wheels. Don't force these lug nuts either and make sure they are torqued to spec, or you will be replacing some wheel studs. Then again I remove my wheels very often since i'm always working on the car...
