LCA Ball Joints?!

I was jsut on the phone with my local Nissan dealership parts department and they informed me that Nissan does not offer OEM ball joints. Apparently they would rather you purchase the entire control arm for about $200. Yeah... right... well I know people have replaced these regardless, so my question is, can anyone explain to me in detail how to press out these ball joints once I get the LCAs out? (I'm already planning on air-chiselling the old bushings off to put new poly ones on) Thanks in advance.

There is a retaining ring on the undersided of the balljoint. remove that ring. press the old one out. press the new one in and put the ring back. sounds easier than it is. If you dont get Nissan, make sure you get MOOG.

Take off the LCA put the control arm on 2 blocks of wood with enough gap underneath to knock the balljoint out. Take off the ring holding the balljoint in and get a hammer and knock the balljoint out. As for putting the new one in you can go rent a tool or you can take it to a shop and get it done.
