if you bought a cat from warpspeed pls input info

i just bought a new cat from warpspeed to make my full exhaust change easier. figured itll prolly break off in half from all the rust.

in another thread (http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=515105) someone stated the gaskets provided by warpspeed are shi77y and burn up in couple wks leading to exhaust leaks. (getting me paranoid...)

please provide any useful info you may have or have experience personally with this particular item. do i install with the gaskets provided or no? if not where can i get good ones (i assume OEM ones)

I'm the one that said that the gaskets they supply are garbage! The first cat they sent me lasted me 8 months before the insides of the cat became loose.
I that period of time I changed the gaskets twice.

Once I got the replacement cat from Dallas, he sent 2 gaskets with it and I used them (don't know why). After the 2nd week I started to have exhaust leaks, so I went to a local exhaust shop & got metal ones & now no more leaks. This weekend I'm also going to use some Permatex Copper Gasket Maker to make sure it never leaks again.

I bought one and it seems to be fine, just passed emissions this week. But I've only had it on for a few weeks so I can't really speak to its longevity.

Nothing to be concerned about, just get different gaskets and you'll be fine.

This Warpspeed installation, done by Dallas and Mike in Rogers Arkansas about three years ago, still looks and performs the same. The gaskets are fine - I tightened the cat gasket three or four times until it quit making noise - and the aluminized tubing still looks the same.

Some photos done during installation:

No problems for me.
