Cars in P with revs in 1500-2000 and this weird clanging and clunking noise.
I have been following up on this wierd noise that Is viberating on my steering wheel when I have the car facing the down hills and I would put my car in park then let go of the brakes the car would then roll a little untill I hear the locking noise from the axles and then I have the hand brake up. I am reving the car between the 1000-2000 rpms the car would make this banging clanking noise right threw my steering wheel and I try turn the steering wheel to the left the noise is harsh and I move the steering wheel to the right noise is very harsh. I went to Goodyear and they could not find out where the noise was coming from. I also found out that I have leaking cv boots on both sides of the car. Goodyear has said to change the axles on both sides. I also read up some stuff on motorvate talking aout the clanking noise but I like some little more info and can this be all realated. thanks
you dont park on hills without using the parking brake. you shouldnt park anytime without using it. you come to a stop. pull up the brake and then take your foot off of the brake pedal. apply parking brake first. if you do this and it still rolls, either your cables need adjusting or your rear calipers are in trouble.
not sure if you meant there is a clanking in the steering wheel when you park on a hill or all of the time. a knocking noise when turning the wheel at a dead stop is usually indicative of a very bad ball joint (should knock when you go over a bump also). of course it could also be your strut bearings or sway bar linkage.
I dont know if you mean you are revving the car this high or if you mean it does it on its own. If it does it on its own, where does it idle when you arent touching anything? the knocking noise could also be an empty/dead poewr steering pump which knocks when turned side to side. a better description of everything would be much more helpful.

cause I had someone to give the car gas and I was feeling the tierods viberating hard.
The car does not do the revving on it's own I rev it and I hear the noise and viberations and the subaru noise.
The ball joints should be near the control arm right?

My honest opinion, take it to a reputable shop because it seems oobvious to me you have no idea what you are looking at/talking about. No insult intended.

Tie rod ends and ball joints are 2 different things. Tierods wont vibrate when you give the car gas. they will vibrate when you hit a bump (if they are extremely bad). now if you know the tierods are bad then you may have found your problem.
this makes absolutely no sense. First off, what the hell is a "Subaru Noise"? The only car I know of with its own special sound is a VW Beetle.
The ball joint is a part of the control arm. It is at the end of the arm adn connects the arm to the steering hub.

Dude, I know what I am talking about this is my car and I been looking into this for a while now I know what I am talking about.... The knocking noise only happens when I have the car parked and it gets louder as I turn the wheel to the left and there is no noise going over the bumps. I have to rev the car to hear the noises and it's like a hard metal banging grinding noise it's usally coming from the steering wheel and lot's of vibration. The subaru noise is when the engine sounds like it's stroking with a heavy gargle. I mentioned about the tie rods cause they will definetly viberate when I have someone to give it gas. I also was thinking that all of the grease could of dripped out of the axles and maybe the tie rod maybe that's why the noise is like this.
I know if it's hard to find out what it is I will just find a rec device and hopfully load it up here.
I have the sound clip..
I have been off for a while now I am back and I got the clips and it might not sound good but I will load up another one if it's not recongnizable.
I was talking about the clacking noise when i am driving and it could be my axles this is only when I am driving and when my car is in park. I also found out that my rack and pinnons are leaking. If the grease is all out of the axles and the rack and pinon could that also be the problem. HAVE THE VOL ON MAX.
