Question about tranny fluid

Hey guys, I was just wondering if there was any kind of special transmission fluid that we can put in our cars to better protect against wear and tear.. cause i like to shift at high rpms, and i know that puts stress on the tranny, so I was just wondering if there was anything I can do to protect it besides shifting at a lower rpm...

when i got the car it had 76,000 miles on it, so i dont know if they flushed the tranny at the proper intervals, but i've had it for 20,000 miles and had it flushed once and plan to do it every 30,000.. i have an auto... but i just like hard takeoffs.. so mainly the stress im talkin about is the shift from 1-2.. sometimes it's smooth as butter, but sometimes i can feel the car jerk when it shifts into second gear at 4500 rpms or above... is that normal? or is it something to worry about...

yes i would worry, i would also slow down because thats the main part of the gears that u r killing, u use 1-2 ALL the time and it gets worn out the fastest

every 30K miles is the spec for fluid flushes so keep doing that

I recently just did a flush and fill with Amsoil and LUCAS tranny oil lubricant. Also installed Haynes tranny cooler. VERY big difference with the tranny cooler tho.

Really not too difficult. Plus, there's already a how-to written up on how its done:

The best way to protect your tranny is to shift correctly and let the machinery to their job. That means no forcing of gears, letting the synchros do their thing and not shocking the tranny by dumping the clutch. If you're good on it that way, it will last. If you jam the gears and are rough with shifting, no oil will prevent break down form that.
