Turn Signals Don't Flash when Locked with Remote FOB
Turn Signals Don't Flash when Locked with Remote FOB
So today I notice that when I use my remote to lock my car the turn signals don't flash, however the doors still lock.
I checked to see if my turn signals and hazards still work and they do.
What could this be? I am also still trying to figure out why my rear doors and windows won't work, maybe related? Although, this light problem has just occured and the door and window problem has been that way for a couple of months now.
Any help would be great. Thanks!
Edit: Also noticed that when I hold down the lock button the horn doesn't sound.

since, we're on the subject... i just reprogrammed my keyless remote today, but the signal seems very weak. the remote only works well when i mash the buttons when pointing at the red led that flashes right up to the driver's door window... also the remote's battery is brand new.
I know that the horn does sound on my 95 if the lock button is held down (Panic Mode). I was NOT refferring to the horn sounding when you lock the doors if that is what you were thinking.
Alright my 1995 and 1997 must be different. Hold down the lock button on my 1995 results in the alarm going off. Maybe that is why it doesn't go off on the 1997.
Back to the main topic though where is the BCM Fuse located? Should / Would the turn signals and hazards still work if this fuse is no good?
Thanks.
JP

i had this problem a little while ago. I would double and triple check each door's window switch (where you control the windows duh) connection. make sure the plug is in the harness really good.
When I took out my passenger window switch to do the led mod to them i noticed that it seemed to not complete the "circuit" and when i'd go to lock my doors i freaked out because the lights never flashed twice.
BTW, the bcm controls interior lighting for instance, so check to see if the timing mechanism on the dome light is functioning properly (when you close the door, make sure the light goes off after 15 or 30 seconds). If this does work, I presume the bcm fuse is alright.

Guys I had a similar problem and before you just blame the BCM you may want to consider the IVMS In Vehicle Multiplexing System which basically routes signals from the 5 smaller LCU Local Control Modules...
anyway after a few hundred $$$ at the nissan dealer only for them to tell me they "think" its the BCM and could NOT proceed without replacing it (at my expense) i decided to do some troubleshooting myself
if you have torn apart your upper center console (where the radio and a/c controls are located) to get to the BCM consider the black PLASTIC box with 3 plug connectors sitting directly on top of the BCM and its even held down with the same bolts
i do not know the name of THAT box but i can tell you that replacing that box fixed my ghost electrical problem that was killing my pwr windows and pwr locks without warning they would just stop working and also using the FOB it would "keep" my anti-theft active sometimes could not even start the car other times alarm would go off everytime i opened the door WITH the key
I believe that black box is one of the LCU's dont know which one but they do process alot of signals to and from the BCM another clue i would have was my courtesy door lights would not come on and my dimmer switch stopped working all together
NOW to be honest after replacing the black box i have not had a pwr window or lock problem - my dimmer works now and m door lights function perfect
but i must admit my FOB does NOT work
maybe that box has the code from the other car and i must erase it i dont know but at least i dont worry about my windows or locks
sorry for the long story hope it helps
oh BTW i have a 96 auto

asked the exact same question, was told that if there is any window control switches (every door has one obiously) are not properly connected then obiously they wont send the signal that the door is locked, this was my problem as I actually had the switch out of the P/S front DUH!!. I can post a wiring diagram of the security system if it'll help let me know.
goobergo ~ If you just replaced a switch as I heared I'd check that 1st, if there wasn't a problem with the signal or reciever before. You said the bat is new, but I've seen low/bad batteries cause the exact problem you mentioned, I've also seen 'brand new' batteries that died in a week or were dead to start with>>>just sayin.

but that happened when I short the bcm relay at the back of the trunk, so does it help if i replace the bcm head unit under the center console? my battery still work and car starts, but keep nonstop beep and couldn't flash when the doors are locked..
