S F C Review Thread

So I guess I was the guinea pig for these for my 98SE and wanted to go ahead and give a review. The SFCs arrived in great condition and are made with high quality steel; craftsmanship was great. Installation time was a little over an hour and a half. The kit came with written instructions although I will say some diagrams would have helped some. The bars running parallel with the car seemed to be a pretty snug fit however we had to modify the X bracing a little. Basically three of the braces reached their intended tabs on the parallel bars but we had to slightly lengthen the 4th so we had adequate metal to drill through for the bolt. The bars were installed on a 4 post lift as denoted by the instructions.

Now for the performance reviews.......... Ill give you an idea of my previous setup. Handling mods include D2's, FSTB, RSB, 18x8" wheels with 245/40/18s. Ive surprised many many many people on 270 degree entrance ramps with this setup topping out 2nd gear through the turn and entering the highway (still turning) faster than people already going straight on it Needless to say my setup was pretty beefy before these. After installing the SFCs this morning my car no longer feels like a maxima.... I should not have been able to take turns at the speeds I did and not lose traction. These things are un...be...lieveable!!!! At highway speeds theres no vibration or rattling noises anymore. The car feels muuuuuch more planted upon abrupt lane changes. The sidewalls of my 245/40/18 General Exclaim UHPs (which are decently stiff) felt sloppy bc there was absolutely no play anywhere else in the car (chasis)!!!! Basically Im sold on these SFCs, especially at this price!! I lost a liiiiittle bit of ground clearance but it wasnt terrible. IMO you'd be crazy not the try these if youre at all serious about an amazing handling upgrade. I also wanted to thank Dan and everyone at Truax Motorsports, especially for the upgraded X bracing, and for maintaining professionalism by constantly staying in touch.

Grant

Well they sound pretty great to me. The pics on ebay don't like the pictures in the other thread. Waiting on pics from you and possibly going from there.

edit: also, ebay is out of them. Any other sites you know that have them?

Price will be disclosed when the thread is made.

I will say, it is the best price you'll be able to get anywhere.
Cheaper than even going custom at some shop.

SFCs

Grant,
Thanks for affirming what I have known for a long time, these babies really make a difference!!! We appreciate your feedback and have already made plans to make the cross pieces about 2 cm longer. The reason we do not cut holes in the tabs is for the very reason you encountered. On my Maxima and the other one we checked it on, the tabs we fine. By predrilling holes in the tabs, you would have not been able to line up the holes.
We also will be adding photos and diagrams for the install sheet to help make this easier.
I am just trying to finish up details with administration here to make sure we have the go ahead for the group buy. We want to do this by org rules.
blackmaxx96 will be running the group buy. For you 5th Gen guys, Sean already has the first 2 sets made, and is just tweaking the bracing, as it will need to be slightly different from the 4th Gen due to clearance issues around the exhaust system. Buy the looks I think it will be ecen stronger.
Thanks to all for you many emails and great questions.

Dan, I just wanted to say thank you in advance for designing these. There is a contingent of us on the Org who have been dying to get SFCs made for a lonnnnnng, lonnnnnng time. Warpspeed/Dallas's lack of interest and empty promises were very frustrating and it seems you are making customer service and communication a high priority, which is just excellent. Once a few of us get these installed, you will probably be getting quite a bit of business from Maxima owners since as you know SFCs are probably the single best modification for the car in terms of handling, ride, feel, and value.

I'm in for the group deal; Blackmaxx, please let us know in this thread when the GD thread is up. Thanks!

Thanks again Dan! Yea I figured thats why you guys had left those tabs undrilled; makes more sense that way in case there was any variation. I just got back from another test drive - I really cannot tell you guys how amazing these things are, you really need to experience them yourself.
