95/96 owners: who babies their car the most??

I've got 148,000 on mine. i know it's not the lowest, but i thought i saw someone on here who's got a 1995 with like 38,000 miles or something rediculous. This does not include engine swaps and all that, just original miles on body and miles on engine.

I have a 95SE, 5-speed, with 67,557 one-owner mostly highway miles on it.

I am truly **** about this car. It is professionally detailed annually.

I drive around in malls until I find a suitable parking spot.

I don't drive short distances in it as I will take the circuitous route when running errands in order for the engine to warm up.

It has seldom seen ice or snow as I leave it parked in those conditions.

The back leather seats look like new still.

The car was Diamond coated, rustproofed and leather protected at birth.

105k on mine...I abuse the **** out of it and reliable as ever. When I tried babying it a while ago, the WP went out. I just follow her wishes and ride her hard, as it were.

The car was purchased in 1994 wasn't it? I love this story.

Yes it was. I ordered the car in late June 1994. It arrived on September 30 and I took possession on October 1st after the rustproofing, Diamond coating and leather protection package was applied.

I just changed the OEM platinum plugs for the first time in early March (in kind). The front brakes are original.

I only replaced the rear brake pads because I had a seized right rear caliper and replaced both at the same time 2 years ago. My stupidity for not using the emergency brake often enough.

I put 25k miles on the car in the first 3 years and only 52.5 k in the last 9.5 years.

The car is used for 500 mile round trips in the summer time at least once or twice a year.

I've 96 max SE 5-Speed with 109,000 miles on it.
Oil changed every 2k miles and detailed every 3 months.
Always garaged and wash car every week...
I barely used AC and everything is in excellent condition.
I'm the original owner...

So, does babied mean less miles? . Is this a mileage thread again?

...sigh

235k here. I can't take it to 7200 anymore FTL. If I could, I would.

The owner is probably afraid of traffic in NY State.

From what I gather, roads in and around the city are hell on cars. I don't blame him.

And I thought I was ****. Oil changesare too frequent, IMHO.

I take it synthetic oil is out of the question. If not, you are wasting your time and money.

My max has done about 158 miles, it has been serviced without fail every 6 miles by a Nissan dealer following the servicing intervals from the manual. This was done right up until i purchased it from the previous only owner of the car. This was a year ago, and since then i've replaced the oil, coolant, knock senser, wheel alignment tire rotation and trans fluid.

She runs very nice, some of my friends comment on how smooth she idles, and their 5 year old cars dont idle as nice or drive as smooth. When not in gear, i swear i can't tell if the car is on or off.

The tans is also in awesome condition, when i changed the oil it looked at it and it didn't have any signs of burning, looked and smelt clean (no burnt smell). It also changes very smooth, almost can't feel it.

The suspension and shocks where replaced about 20k miles ago, to some after market suspension thats quite stiff but comfortable. so the car feels very responsive.

I let my car idle for around 30 seconds before i drive it, to ensure sufficient oil has been pumped through the engine, and it isn't dead cold. I also drive like a grandpa until she warms up completely, and avoid taking short trips as much as possible.

I will always keep my distance from a truck to avoid stone chips, and would rather walk 5 minutes to the shops from an empty row of car parks at the opposite end of the shopping center, than trying to find a part 30 meters away. Not because i like walking, but because i want to avoid idiots smashing their doors into my car.

I'm **** about the cleanliness of my car, and don't allow people to eat or drink inside, and i like to clean it inside around once a fortnight.

I never drive it hard, i.e race people and rev it right out, i usually always change gears between 2-3 rpm depending on the circumstance.

I always use 100 RON octane fuel in my car, and will drive around untill i find it. I also never let my car run low on fuel to avoid and **** thats collected from the tank being pumped into the engine, and to reduce knocking. I've never actually seen the low fuel warning light cos ive never been low enough.

Even though i have a dark tint, and have a dash protector, I always use a window shield on hot days to try to reduce the heat entering the car, to avoid the dash/steering wheel from heat cracking.

I took the car to a mechanic to get the timing chain noise checked out, as it is a tiny but loose because the tensioner is stuffed from having done 150+ miles. He couldn't believe the miles it had done after driving it. So i guess it pays of to look after your car, especially one with a VQ engine, as they'll basically reward you by running awesome.

My 96 has 93k on it... Shes being stupid right now, I had just dropped like $200 into diy maintenance and a weeks later the alternator dies. Her punishment is sitting for two weeks with no battery (actually just no time to help her) haha... I dont think she likes me, she has given me alot of crap for a car that has only 93k. In the mean time I drive the "beast" a 01 Tundra V8 .

Sure I don't have a 95/96, but I thought I'd give you guys a bit of my medicine:

Bought car in september of 06 with 81K miles, it's at 96K miles today.

7 months, 15K miles = 2.1K month = 25K miles a year. Sweet - I drive twice the nation's average
