Is there a way to Detail/Clean a headliner

I have a 96 Max that sat for a long 7 years. You would think that the interior would be in perfect condition, unfortunately it's not. It is filthy. Is there a way to clean the entire headliner? I asked about having it shampooed with the rest of the carpets but the shop said that the second water hit the headline the glue will let go and it will fall. Any thought's?

i've heard woolite, diluted with warm water, might do the trick ... perhaps Prinz or someone can chime in and clarify.

You're right nadir. 3 or 4 parts water and 1 part Woolite in a spray bottle. Spray a MF lightly and gently scrub the headliner. Use a dry MF to wipe.

The part about a lot of moisture is correct. You want to use as little as possible because it can cause the glue to let go.
