Nav-TV from ActiveTuning?

Has anyone used the Nav-TV input interface from ActiveTuning?

http://www.activetuning.com/products...GB2+/index.php

How hard is it to install? The instructions on the site aren't that great, was wondering if they give you better ones.

Also, If your using the input from an alternate video source (i.e. Backup Camera, or DVD) where u still able to see the A/C information?

I'm sure I already know the answer to this, but thought I'd ask anyway. Is anyone aware of an adapter like this that will take VGA input, or anything other than composite RCA?

Also, http://www.nav2tv.com/ claims to have this adapter for $200. You can even buy a plug and play version for $250 so you will not have to cut any factory wires.

I got this a while back when it basically first came out. It really isnt bad at all...though a lil expensive. The only problem that I have had with it is that the screen rolls some. It has the two inputs for some device (I use PS2) and another input for a backup camera. I got the plug n play one, but the other one requires the cutting of only 4 wires. Also if you call Dom. in NY they are very willing to help you with any questions. Hope this helps.

But my question is....

can you see the AC info when viewing these other screens? Like can you see the temp, the mode, so on and forth?

No...the only screen that you can see is the input screen if that is the one that you have up. Thats the one thing I dont like.

ok... i'm just trynna figure out how this input is attained....

if that's the case.... it might all b channeled to the nav, and then to the screen... might be additional wires....

Any1 know anything about overlay technology?

i believe its an rca cable attached to the box itself... and with a flick of a toggle switch it "plays dvds" and stuff instead of the stock navigation screen

oh... i was ref to the AC infobeing displayed on the LCD.

Yea i'[m sure that add-on just interrupts the video and sitches the input,

but what i'm saying is the ac unit and nav unit are seperate, but somehow regardless of what screen ur on, when u mess wid ac it will show on the lcd...

Now i want to get that AC input on the screen regardless...

so if i decide to replace my whole nav.... with another nav, and oem screen, with same or aftermarket screen... i can still see my AC info.
