Idler pulley replacement

I need to change my idler pulley. Where is the cheapest place to buy one? Also, when I get ready to remove the belt, do I have to loosen the tension adjuster up top first, or loosen the pulley and then loosen the tension adjuster? I'm kinda confused on the belt. It seems like you would have to first loosen the nut on the pulley before the adjuster would even move. However, in my haynes manual, I think it says to loosen the adjustment on top first??? Thanks.

I had to change mine about six months ago. Super easy. The nissan dealership near me charged around 66 dollars. But i think courtesy nissan has it for cheaper.

If your doing it yourself try getting the pulley first b/c lots of times the top nut breaks b/c of rust. The dealership charges $35.00 I think for the pulley. First start off with loosening the bolt on the pulley. Than loosen the top bolt by turning opposite. Righty loosy Lefty Tighty. Its opposite threaded. You should be able to get everything off afterwards.

Great advice.

Not sure if this was understood but, loosen the bolt on the pulley FIRST and then use the adjusting bolt. If you want to make sure which way you are turning it, pluck the belt (like a rubber band) and listen to the sound. After a few turns on the adjustment bolt the pitch will go higher (tighter) or lower (looser).
