License plate screws - rust-proof

Anyone know where to get the license plate screws that are zinc-plated for rust proof? I need to get these change since they're bleeding.

Why not stainless steel? Many if not most auto parts stores have them, or take an old screw into a hardware store and match up a couple there.

home depot, lowes? just pull one out and go into the store then they usually have the thing you can test the screw in to figure out what size it is then get a similar one. i know i've gotten some at home depot before, but i have no idea what size they were

it's a license place screw....find anything that works. Not a big decision. If it holds the plate and bolts tight it will work. Why would you want to stay with the nylon stuff? Just breaks. Get some standard SS nuts and bolts from home depot/lowes/whatever.

Okay, today I tried to remove the top screws, but it doesn't budge. The nut and bolt is just too rusted so I sawed both screws out. Now my only problem is how do I mount the license plate. I use the square nylon nut and the screw sold at Pepboys and I can't seem to hold on to the nylon nut from the back for both the top ones. Some people say to get the regular nut and bolts, but how would I hold on to the metal nut? Advice please.

Oh, another thing. On the bottom two screws, I am missing a hole. It's just torn apart. Anyone got any idea on how to put a metal in between so I can use the standard nut and bolt?

I bought a plate cover back in December that came with some 'plastic' black screws to hold it on...the work pretty well, good & strong...I don't know what they are actually made of but the feel like plastic...

im with ksumax, the key is lubrication/and of course.any petrolium product will inhibit rust/try pb blaster/better and thicker than wd 40/ however a super lubricant is silicon grease/probably a good rust inhibiter, but not sure about that

i got a bolt protector from the dealer. it has a locking license plate holder that you need a special key to unlock. it also comes with bolt caps to protect the bolt heads that snap on so they don't rust. 10.00 and well worth it. the caps look like chrome, and i have a chrome nissan license plate protector that looks phat with them.
