How does this deal sound...95 se
I finally found a 95' black se 5 speed, with 83k miles for $7,000. Yeah I know it sounds good, but here's the thing. The front bumper and one of the fenders needs to be replaced. He said he got an estimate and it was about $2,000. The BB value on this car is about $9,800 minus the 2k for the repair, which is $6.8, minus maybe 300 cuz of the downtime it will have. I'm thinking I should ask for $6,500 cuz of all this stuff. Also, should I get the Stillen front? Might as well, right? Ok, just wanted some feedback.
Personally, I would offer even less. First you need to figure out what's the most you are willing to pay. That is the most important thing. Another thing to remember, when you got the book value for the car did it have the option to discount for body/paint work. This also drops the value of the car. I would offer $6200-$6400 and let him work his way up. If you offer $6800 he'll come back with $6900. If you offer $6200 and state the overall value of the car decreases because of the body work he might come back with $6600 if you're lucky, which is $300 less than the $6900. Just my opinion.
Oops...
Heh, nevermind that thing about the Stillen bumper. Yeah I know, I'm an idiot. I forgot. But, I was thinking about the $2,000 it will take to fix the bumper and fender. Will it be cheaper if I order it? If so, where can I order it from? And also, I might as well get the 97-99 bumper. I'm just trying to think how this is gonna add up to $2,000. Seems like a lot to me. I'm pretty much asking the cheapest way to do this. I may have somebody that can paint the fender and bumper, but where do I get the matching paint?

You can check out CoPartFinder.com. You put in your zip code and it will list in order of distance from you cars that are being parted out. You could probably get them from there. As far as the paint goes, if you have it professionally done they can match the paint to your car. You can look under your hood and there will be a plate that lists your paint color. However, just buying the paint it will be hard to get an exact match due to normal paint fading that is already on the car. However, a professional can take this into account.
