Ok..I am trying to figure out why my grill is painted. I have a 01 Maxima SE, Grey Lustre C&C package. Well every other maxima I see..has a black grill..no matter what. I have never seen another one with the same color grill as the car. When I was at the nissan dealer today I saw another SE..black grill..but also the splash guards arent painted..mine are.. Whats the problem here?

Things that make you go hmmmm...

Do you have a picture you can post? I wouldn't mind seeing how it looks, as I was debating on painting my grill. I think I'm going to hold out for a custom grill and paint it, though. I'm still undecided. As to why your grill is painted, I don't know. Did you buy it new? Even if it had just a few miles on it, it may have been a program car. I was thinking that perhaps it was slightly wrecked before you got it and the paint was part of the repair. Also, maybe another potential buyer made the request and then backed out of the sale. Who knows? I just thought I would respond. Again, if you can post a picture, I would love to see it. Thanks!

Well dude if you don't like your grill painted and your mud guards, I have a 00 SE which doesn't have them painted but since I planned to do the painting we can switch cars alltogeather win win situation!

Well, if you have a sales brochure or other proof as to how the car should look, just have the dealer fix the car under warantee. Though it is not a repair issue, they may give you some flak, so let them know you will get the national Nissan
customer relations a call if they don't fix it.

Hmmm

Well my 2k1 grill is grey not black. Never seen a black grill on a 2k+ max here in Canada...they are all grey.
I wish my grill was black!

I went out of my way to get factory painted splash guards, but I have noticed many of the 2001's at a local dealership, if not all, had painted splash guards and not the traditional black splash guards.
