painting key hole

is it possible/advisable to paint the trunk key hole? if so does it need to be removed to paint it or should i just cover the surrounding area and paint it on the car?

You can paint it on the car. Are you planning on spray paint or a touch up pen? I used a touch up pen and then clear coat pen...it worked very well. Either way, make sure you mask off the area very well, expeciallly if you plan to us spray paint. And I also roughed up the surface a little, to help the paint stick...

+1 on the nail polish. one day forgot and used my spare key in the hole.
but then i found this oldschool black enamel paint. made it hard as a rock.

check the sig. also blacked out the maxima emblem, took me 30 min to mask that thing off with bits of masking tape.
