Anyone tried this new lighting from Philips. Interesting concept, but I can't find any specs on how many hours you can expect out of them.

i found these on bulbs.com for $15 ea. I'm just wondering, will these work with a stock headlight housing or do you need to upgrade to HID or something to get the full effectiveness?

a headache waiting to happen, white is **** on snow, and how does blue make green roadsigns more visible? road signs have reflective paint anyways, even a flashlight can light up a road sign

 

im blind at night, so these would be awesome if they actually work

 

basically all they've probly done is intricately painted the bulb with different colours

so not even worth it for just the bulbs, but rather better off with a whole new setup?

 

I would try the bulbs, if it has 50ft further distance I think they would help. And blue does reflect quicker/better on road signs from my experience

 

I saw these on Motorweek and usually they are pretty good with their recommendations. I'd like to find the real specs on these first since other similar bulbs like SilverStars only have a life of 100 hours or so. Can't find any specs on Philips' website.

 

Look at HIDs, even 4300k. 4300k isn't "blue" but it's closer to blue than halogen is, and it reflects AWESOME, even in the daylight.

 

Somebody around here has them on his GTI. They're pretty bright. Not sure how good visibility is though.
