Knocking in the Rear

necessary info
2005 SL
37,500 miles
cattman/progress rear sway bar
racingline endlinks

I have started to hear a knocking noise in the rear that sounds suspiciously like the suspension to me - it seems to happen when the car bounces because of a bump - seems like I don't hear it when i'm turning but not 100% on that

any suggestions??

I'm leaving town tomorrow for a bit and might not have i-net access so please be patient if my response is needed

Check your bushings on the endlinks.
I had the knocking too and it turned out that the bushings
were ruptured. The sway bar was rubbing against the
endlink.

Apply this fix complements of coitaltie.

For me, I knew it was the bushings because I can feel the
handling degraded over time.

What Albert said. Also may help to spray just a small amount of silicone on the endlinks itself for a little lubrication. It is golden as can be now.

Check the two bushings holding the sway bar. The rubber could be split or the bracket loose.
