What exactly about them? For yours, I believe it's 16x6.5, obviously 5x114.3, no idea on offset.

1. need everything size realeted... diameter, width, offset, tire size...

2. i'm pulling my max out of storage after a couple yrs. going V.I.P. style (ie low-low drop, big wheels). looking @ 20 x 7.5 w/ 42mm offset for the front so they'll tuck under the fenders.

20 x 7.5" I bet that looks odd, huge dia., tiny width. That's a safe diameter and offset in that you wont have to worry about rubbing.

I've had 8.5" wide and 32mm and it doesn't rub.

yeah... wierd size. i'm more worried about hittin the inside at full turn than the fender. wonderin if 42mm is too much but i think factory is 40mm so it should be ok.

To get everything straight, the higher the value, the more inward the wheel will sit & vice versa.

I'm pretty sure SE 16s were +40 or +45, but 16x6.5 sounds right.

VIP is cool- but you know going 20" will throw of your speedo, 42 offset is too much you'll rub, anyways 42 o.s. doesn't sound right for a wheel thats only 7.5 wide and 20. I'm no wheel expert, just go to tirerack or wheelmax and compare specs most 17-19's are at 35 o.s. if you surpass that spec you'll probably have turning issues> wheel bearing issues-> because your surpassing the geometry range of components, powersteering issues because your rack and pump will suffer via more exertion. good luck on your decision just somethings to consider, check out the brake & susp forum.

Not by a whole lot w/ 235/30-20's (~1.5%)

heh... knew it couldn't go too long without somebody hatin. thanks for all the info. though.

newsflash (fr33way): 20x7.5 in the front may not be hardcore V.I.P. (just like taking some emblems off isn't really shaving your trunk now is it?) but hopefully i'll be able to turn without rubbing while dropped rediculously low. givin up a (very) lil style for functionality, by using wheels that weren't really made for our cars to accomplish the over-all goal (ie rx7 wheels for weight reduction). maybe if you did some research first, you wouldn't be ridin 5mm spacers hater.

I guess if ur going VIP, performance isn't an issue- personally i wanna know exactly how fast i'm going -even ~1.5% to me is out of the question. Like i said i'm no wheel expert, u can put any size wheel on ur max i've seen 26's on one, but as i said you'll throw ur geometry off also suspension travel is something to consider- please don't let ur wheels tow in you'll go through a lot of tires and IMO it doesn't look good- a properly alligned wheel sitting flush with body panels looks best IMO. do as u please what looks good to u is what's important. peace!

Even if you had the exact same tire size as stock, the gauge itself is not very accurate coupled with the age/mileage of the tires.

Same general principle goes for RPM, ECT & fuel gauges.

i want to go lower than being flush would allow. i'll be on coilovers so suspension travel won't be as much of an issue as geometry. i've been checkin out the susp & brake forum and it seems theres not much you can do besides flip the tie rod. give a lil get a lil.

Have you considered bagging the max? I'm sure there has to b an application for it out there, just a thought.

Fr33way's wheels > any set of dubs, ever--ESPECIALLY 7.5Js. 20x7.5 will look plain silly.

And 5mm spacers are a small price to pay for <14lb wide wheels that can be had very cheap and look more or less OEM.

Well I guess since you made it personal then I will make my reply the same.

Maybe those are opinions on a (wait for it...) public forum?

That is true, it's actually pretty lame overall.

Not really sure what this is referring to. If it's to me, did I go around saying I have a m4d tyt3 JDM VIP Cefiro slippery trunk? Not really.

More a factor of offset, there are pleny 4th gens on 20s (and a few on 21s).

Maybe, in the research I found I would be using 5mm spacers and ordered them before I got the wheels. I knew the offset, backspacing, aspect ratio, distance from caliper, distance from ebrake cable, and distance from body all before I got them home.

If you had just said "I want to put skinny 20s on my car", I would have bypassed this thread. But since you mentioned VIP and (oh really?) I know about the VIP scene (both here and Japan) I thought I would chime in. Please don't take it like a little girl with gum in her hair.

opinions are great (i even like negative ones) but i asked for facts.

did you even read the thread or did you just search vip and look for the pretty highlighted letters?

good taste is universal. thats why we're bickering over the 1" width difference of a front wheel, instead of the overall idea. technicalities. and i promise you'll at least respect it, if not be impressed.

so what i'm hearing is you could've helped, instead you wanted to show out.

and for the pom-pom section... not interested in savin weight or lookin factory... GOOOO FR33WAY!

on the upside, not getting any actual feedback has led me to back to thinkin wider wheels and less drop. thread dead.

Fact: 20x7.5 is STILL not VIP. It's poser.

If you want info on the lowest drop on 20s PM shavedmax. He is on 20s and bagged.

It has nothing to do with him being bagged, he is low and on 20s. You are terrible at reading comprehension.
