Auto Tranny with Turbo or Supercharger?

Hey does anyone have any pics and/or track time of their 4th gen auto with turbo or supercharger.

I've heard with an auto tranny it wouldn't be a good idea to do turbo or supercharger but do NOS.

Well I'm one of the 4th gens with auto tranny and now trying to figure out which way to go.

turbo or supercharger pairs well with a manual 5-spd (or 6-spd) not so well with an auto tranny. but I guess if I had to pick one of the 2 I'd go with the supercharger for an auto-tranny + cooler

Sift through various track times here.

It's actually N2O, NOS is a brand name. Here's a link to our advanced performance subforum. (F/I, N2O, NA)

I have been spraying a 75 shot for almost 1 year and now the tranny is starting to die. I have a tranny cooler, drop mod and a few quarts of mobile 1

the tranny is fine for normal driving and a few wot shifts but it's no longer nitrous friendly. I will be getting the tranny built after the summer is over with a high stall TC, heavy duty clutches and vb job since my other car does not have a/c

yea but it's gonna do the same thing after a year right? so this is not a good choice for auto. Damn i hate this, when i first got the car ten years ago i didn't know I wasn't gonna be modding it lol, so that's why i bought a auto and didn't know how to drive a stick.

Now that i've learned (a while ago) it leaves me with no choice.

it will depend on the condition of your tranny and how you drive it, like I said my tranny is fine for daily driving and may last another year if I drive normal and no racing

I say you should just convert to a 5spd before you decide to go with boost. It will be better and last longer.

are yall serious having a turbo with auto is better than stick because the turbo stays spooled between shift due to the constant loading unlike manuals, why do you think some of the fastest street turbo cars are automatics??

yea it might be the faster but for how long till you need a rebuild?

the 5speed will actually last you a little longer but think about what you asking your trans to do. a blower at 10psi should add about 100hp to your car. and coming from a stock 160whp thats asking a lot from a stock tranny let alone a auto.

there are a lot of people who did SC their autos and started to slip within months. It might of been due to the SC, it might of been half way on going on and the SC might of add or didn't add to it. Too many variables going around. But you gotta beef up your tranny to last in the long run.

~4% optimistic. And that, IMO, is significant. And no, I'm not being sarcastic.

of cource im not talking stock auto tranny having it rebuilt just like anything else is best whenever doing serious upgrades manual or auto i dint see the point in getting a mnaual an then having to do all the conversion when you get a hard core rebuild for around the same price at least with a auto you can always have driveability in daily traffic jams
